"Superbe, authentic, popular with local people from the neighborhood. The food is well balanced, not too many heavy spices yet rich in flavours. Take the Gigot with merguez supplément, i find it’s the best combo. You can ask for more semoulina and broth. the merguez are excellent not like other places where they are too fatty."

"Delicious couscous place with warm service at reasonable price. Just don't expect comfort as space is quite limited and you have no other choice than couscous on their menu (you can choose the meat you like). Call them right before you go to be on the waiting list to avoid queuing. Grilled lamb couscous is my favourite."

"We stumbled upon this gem thanks to a warm-hearted French gentleman we met on the street. He insisted this was the best couscous in Paris, and he was absolutely right! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere felt very authentic—packed mostly with locals. The service was incredibly welcoming, which made for a fantastic experience. To the kind gentleman and his wonderful friends—both the men and the woman—who recommended this: I hope you stay happy forever! And to future visitors: I hope you meet locals as hospitable as we did. Definitely share a drink with them if you get the chance!"

"Chez Mamane has a lovely atmosphere. If you are looking for cheap eats at a fantastic price, this is definitely a place to check out. Food, excellent. Not a couscous person typically, but this place do it differently. I can tell it's poached in a lamb/chicken sort of broth, and that made the couscous taste really nice even by itself - notwithstanding the plethora of meat in the royal option as well as the stew, and the deliciously fiery harissa paste. Service, 4 stars. Very good, but I reserve 5 stars for exceptional service. Overall extremely pleased and would come again if I came to Paris in the future!"

"Lovely hidden gem located in this historical part of Paris. Well known but the locals, the bar is busy all the time! Couscous are great, good choice of meat, freshly grilled skewers, unlimited veggies and semolina, for a very fair price! Recommended!"
